CharterGroup is delighted  to announce that starting in January 2022,  two new team members, Richard Hemmings and James Charlton have been appointed to take care of cold file reviews and whole firm reviews for our members. They will be taking over the roles that Finlay and Caroline were involved with  for many years prior to their retirements.

Both are highly experienced in their fields of expertise and will  help us to continue to enhance the benefits which we bring to our members.

     Richard Hemmings FCA

Richard qualified with a larger firm and has significant audit experience. He has over 10 years’ experience in technical roles in both large and medium sized firms. He is an experienced file reviewer of audits of varying size and complexity and has a keen interest in working with small and medium sized firms. He enjoys working with teams to improve their processes and in particular their use of audit software. He enjoys providing technical support and training to partners and staff of all levels on both audit and financial reporting.

    James Charlton FCA

James is  an experienced file reviewer, trainer and consultant.  He undertakes both hot and cold file reviews for audit practices, ranging from sole practitioners  to UK Top 50 firms.  He delivers training on financial reporting (both UK GAAP and IFRS), audit and has a particular interest in the application of FRS 102 and the charity sector.

James previously worked in the National Audit Technical Department  at a UK top 10 firm, providing financial reporting and audit technical advice to the audit and accountancy departments, writing and reviewing technical materials for the practice, and performing engagement quality control reviews on audit files.
