Krishnan Guru-Murthy to chair ICAEW Economic Summit at a pivotal moment in the economy
Krishnan Guru-Murthy to chair ICAEW virtual Economic Summit
On Tuesday 21st June (8.15am for an 8.30am start to 10am) the ICAEW are holding their largest virtual Economic Summit yet covering London and the East of England. You can find the registration link here
In this, our fourth biannual Economic Summit, in recognition of the unprecedented situation individuals and organisations currently face, we are hosting an extended plenary round-table discussion from 8.30am to 9.15am, and have some incredibly high-level speakers confirmed to dissect the wider economic picture:
– Chaired by Krishnan Guru-Murthy, well-known and highly respected British journalist, news presenter and one of Britain’s top political interviewers
– Huw Pill, Chief Economist of the Bank of England
– Anna Leach, Deputy Chief Economist of the CBI
– Suren Thiru, Head of Economics of the British Chamber of Commerce
I was talking to Anna last week and she said that “we are at a pivotal moment in the economy, a good time for this sort of discussion”. I am inclined to agree.
After the plenary session finishes at around 9.15am the audience will be split into County break-out rooms where panellists of local experts will drill down into the specifics of their economic and commercial situation until we wrap up at 10am. I am sure our County panels will prove just as interesting as our plenary discussion.
This event really is not to be missed.
I would like to extend an invitation for ‘you plus two’. I would be very grateful if you could spare the time to do three things:
- Register for this event yourself. If you can’t make it perhaps you could invite a suitably senior colleague to attend in your place.
- Ask at least one high-potential junior colleague to attend as I would like to involve tomorrow’s business leaders as well as today’s.
- Ask at least one of your contacts from another profession to attend. I am keen that the audience combines a range of sectors and industries; accountants and other finance professionals, bankers and investors, lawyers and solicitors, educationalists and charities, NHS organisations and local councils, property agents and developers, entrepreneurs and strategic leaders. Everyone with an interest in our region.
If you know any colleagues or other contacts who would be interested to join this unmissable event please feel free to pass this email to them, and encourage them to follow the ‘you plus two’ instructions. The more diversity we have in our audience, the more representative we can ensure the discussions are, and hopefully the more constructive the solutions identified.
You can find the registration link here (Non-ICAEW members can book places using the ‘Create Account’ button)
Thanks and I hope to see you and your guests on 21st June.
Yours
Gareth
