Helping you to prepare for National Apprenticeship Week 2024

Apprenticeships in Accountancy

I’ve been training accountants for well over 25 years now and in that time the single biggest transformation I have seen has been the introduction of the Apprenticeship Standards in accountancy at levels 2, 3, 4 and 7. Around 85% of the trainees we support are studying as apprentices which is quite incredible.

One of the big focal points each year for employers and providers involved in supporting apprentices is National Apprenticeship Week, which will be running from 5th to 11th February in 2024. I wanted to let you know about some related events and resources that you might find of value. Feel free to share with colleagues and contacts.

First Intuition employer speaker forum – Apprenticeships: The Past, Present and Future

I am currently lining up speakers for my next employer webinar which is running from 8.30am to 10am on Thursday 7thDecember. Register here: Meeting Registration – Zoom As ever we will record the webinar for anyone who can’t attend live.

My expert speakers and I will have a wide-ranging discussion covering:

–        Past; how apprenticeships have impacted the way that entry-level trainee accountants are recruited, supported and developed

–        Present; up-to-date insight into the most recent intakes across the different apprenticeship levels relevant to accountancy

–        Future; what the coming months might look like from a funding and policy perspective with a looming general election

–        The final phase of the webinar will focus on ‘Making the most of National Apprenticeship Week 2024’ with practical guidance and advice on how to engage with young adults during one of the busiest weeks of the annual apprenticeship calendar

Government resources to help you plan for National Apprenticeship Week 2024

There are a range of government resources which you might find useful if you are looking for further inspiration on how to engage with young adults during NAW 2024: NAW Home (appawards.co.uk)

Hope that’s helpful, and I look forward to crossing paths soon.

All the best
