We are now into the second week of November so I thought I would make sure you were aware of some important dates and deadlines relevant to the recent and current apprenticeship incentives available from the government.

Second round of apprenticeship incentives

To be eligible for £3,000 per new learner incentives the eligibility requirements are:

• Apprentices must have an employment start date between 1 April 2021 and 30 September 2021
• Apprentices must have started their apprenticeship programme between 1 April 2021 and 30 November 2021

The second round of incentives must be claimed via the Apprenticeship Service by 30 November, the end of this month. If you need any support with making claims let us know and we can organise a time to chat you through the process.

Third round of apprenticeship incentives

The ESFA have recently released further details of the eligibility criterion for the third round of apprenticeship incentives, worth £3,000 per new learner recruited as an apprentice.

• New apprentices need to have an employment start date between 1 October 2021 and 31 January 2022.
• The key update is that new apprentices don’t need to start on their apprenticeship programme until 31 March 2022 in order to be eligible.

Employers have until 15 May 2022 to make their claims via the Apprenticeship Service for the third round of incentives.
