Hayleys joins as an Affinity Partner – Is staff resourcing a current challenge for your firm?
The most significant issue generally faced currently by the accounting profession is that of recruiting and retaining high quality staff. Lack of resource is also the main barrier to sustaining high growth rates – winning new work is perhaps less of a problem these days, the problem is being able to secure it.
Hayleys Business Solutions, which provides dedicated offshore staff has joined CharterGroup as an Affinity Partner. The parent company, Hayleys is one of Sri Lanka’s largest companies with group revenues exceeding US$1.4bn and with some 35,000 employees – and is one of the most respected employers in the country.
CharterGroup director, Jon Lisby was acquainted with Hayleys BS from his days with Kreston Global. He can explain how the Kreston member firm, James Cowper Kreston (JCK) has had a long-term engagement with Hayleys with 20 full time offshore staff representing some 10% of the firms total workforce engaged across a wide range of service lines including external audit, accounting, taxation (personal & corporate) and due diligence. The staff are generally ex Big 4, are dedicated entirely to JCK and are treated as team members. You are able to specify the qualification level required for example trainee level with 1 or 2 years’ experience, part qualified or perhaps 5 years qualified and interview the candidates before they join firm. A testimonial from Alex Peal, the firm’s Managing Partner is attached.
Of course, in addition to the significant cost saving, there are no additional costs with offshore staff such as national insurance or other employment costs and the UK employment legislation is not applicable.
HBSI is also a certified training partner for globally recognised professional qualifications including CIMA (UK) , ACCA (UK), The Institute of Certified Management Accountants, Chartered Institute of Accounting – Sri Lanka and Association of Accounting Technicians.
We are delighted that a Hayleys team will be joining our Conference this October and will be able to answer any questions you may have about the service offering.
