How to complete the calculator
Six short sections. Estimates are fine, and cautious estimates give you a more realistic result.
It helps to have to hand
- The number of partners in your firm
- The suppliers you use now, such as your technical helpline, PII, cyber security and HR support
- What you spend on marketing, such as PPC, social media, blogs and design
- Your annual training spend and how many people it covers
- A sense of how many clients a year might need help outside your core services
You don't need exact figures. Leave anything blank that doesn't apply.
- Your firmEnter your number of partners. This sets your membership fee.
- Services you already buyOnly switch on services you pay for now. A discount on something you don't need isn't a saving.
- Your marketingEnter what you pay now and we'll compare it with our member prices.
- TrainingAdd your yearly training spend and the number of people it covers.
- Client introductionsThink about a typical year, not your best one. A few introductions in one or two areas is often enough.
- Your resultsEnter your firm's name and email to see your return and get a copy to share with your partners.
Frequently asked questions
How does CharterGroup membership pay for itself?
In three ways. Members save on services they already buy from our affinity partners, such as a technical helpline, cyber security, PII reviews and HR support. They use our in-house marketing team at member prices, with every service available as one package for £1,000 a month. And they can earn income by introducing clients to specialist partners for work such as IHT restructuring, buy-to-let incorporation, client funding and financial advice.
Who is CharterGroup for?
CharterGroup is a peer network of around 20 independent chartered accountancy firms, from £1.5 million to £10 million in fees. You stay fully independent: you keep your own name, your own brand and your own clients.
How much does membership cost?
Membership costs £450 a month, plus £10 a month for each additional partner. A typical four-partner firm pays £480 a month, or £5,760 a year. All fees exclude VAT.
Are the figures in the ROI calculator guaranteed?
No. All figures are illustrative. Actual savings and income depend on the services you use, each partner's current terms, client suitability and consent, and successful completion of the work.
Can accountants accept referral fees under ICAEW and ACCA rules?
Yes, provided you get client consent and disclose any referral fee or commission in line with your professional body's rules. Introductions for financial advice are made to an FCA-authorised firm; you introduce the client and do not give the advice yourself.
